CSX Transportation Signs Satellite PTT Radio Contract

August 18, 2008 - The Jacksonville, Florida-based railway’s internal police department, with over 20,000 miles of track to patrol, turned to CommsFirst for a custom-configured remote communications solution using MSV’s satellite push-to-talk (PTT) services for use by the department’s special agents. The solution includes a custom interoperability device and a unique Web-based dashboard for easy vehicle tracking via GPS.

CommsFirst Played Integral Role at Golden Phoenix

July 30, 2008 - CommsFirst’s rapidly deployable technologies and situational awareness applications played a fundamental role in multiple exercises at Operation Golden Phoenix, a civil-military collaborative training event that took place July 21-25 in San Diego. The event included simulations of chemical and biological attacks, regional wildfires, and illegal border crossings. CommsFirst solutions were field-proven by DoD and other federal and local agencies in numerous scenarios that required hastily formed networks, secure inter-agency information sharing, streaming video, and off-site operations center support.

CommsFirst Delivers Satellite Communications System to Union Country (NJ) Office of Emergency Management

May 30, 2008 - The County of Union New Jersey received delivery today of a Satellite Communications System custom-configured and installed by CommsFirst. The Office of Emergency Management's mobile command center gained the capabilities for wireless data, voice, and video communications—including video streaming directly from an emergency scene—even if local telecommunications services are incapacitated.

Jefferson Parish Louisiana Selects CommsFirst

April 3, 2008 - Katrina-torn Jefferson Parish awarded CommsFirst a contract to equip a parish-owned SUV with tactical communications equipment, including satellite and radio interoperability solutions. The parish is also procuring a custom communications trailer with a 76-foot tower, antenna, and radio repeaters that can withstand wind gusts up to 75 MPH. The trailer will support communications in an area of approximately three square miles. CommsFirst will conduct comprehensive operational training for parish personnel on all solutions provided.

CommsFirst Delivers Satellite Trailer to Louisiana DEQ

February 21, 2008 - CommsFirst delivered to the State of Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality a custom-configured, 37-foot command trailer equipped with state-of-the-art satellite technologies. The trailer provides DEQ field personnel with wireless voice, video and data capabilities with on-board power generation and storage—so they can communicate no matter what.

Ford Motor Company Business Continuity and Security Turn to CommsFirst

December 2007 – Ford Motor Company turned to CommsFirst to specify and identify interoperable radio solutions for their global security team. CommsFirst delivered a radio bridge built into a customized container and enabled their team with full operational training.

For emergency response and business continuity, Ford deploys two CommsFirst mobile satellite communications systems: one is built into a towable emergency operations center; the other is a flyaway unit enclosed in a shippable, hard case. Both include capabilities for wireless networking and data sharing via satellite uplink.

Dept. of Agriculture Fire Center Signs Agreement

November 2007 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Interagency Fire Center has activated a pre-event agreement with CommsFirst for man-portable communications systems and disaster deployments in 2008-2009. CommsFirst remains in a readiness posture to deploy its CommsPacks and personnel in support of wildfire-response missions. Additionally, the center’s field technicians have completed comprehensive training on CommsPack operations to be fully enabled should an incident occur.

CommsFirst Co-Sponsors Strong Angel III

August 2006 - CommsFirst executives played an integral role in co-sponsoring Strong Angel III, an international disaster-response demonstration held in San Diego, Calif.
